Sea to Sky: Zoological Resort
Exotic getaway within the habitat of creatures big and small, sea to sky. Our resort offers accommodation for families, singles, or couples in love with wildlife to wake up to the call of the Congo and fall asleep to the sounds of the Serengeti.
All artwork for this piece was hand-drawn using Adobe Illustrator
Though intended for Print purposes, I had also created a Digital version of the map for Tablets or Phones. This was so visitors can interact, learn about the creatures and their habitats with information for each visual component of the itinerary. It even includes audio of each of the creature-calls when pressed.
PROCESS
In creating a brochure design for this wildlife resort, I researched other zoos' and sanctuaries' that resonate with visitors most. I then imagined what I would do if offered a job to update the competitions brochures and applied those ideas to my own. Using our watermelon-eating-hippo for a mascot themed logo, I continued with vector styled illustrations to create an itinerary and map.
I designed this brochure to prove useful while staying with a colorful, attractive look with many images to keep children interested - as our target audience is primarily made of families with young kids.
As with any print work, I initially folded up a piece of paper into brochure format. I could then draw draft designs over the actual paper, so that I could visualize the finished product as I adjusted values within Illustrator and InDesign.
